Our Core Beliefs

Tempe Christian Church is a Southern Baptist Church. This simply means that we attend Southern Baptist conventions and we adhere to Southern Baptist theology, or doctrine. This theology will be explained later on this page. However, we here at Tempe Christian Church have some things that make us unique from any other church, Baptist or otherwise that you might find.

Our Purpose Statement:

"To help people become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ." This is a process in which an individual is encouraged to grow in three ways:

Personally: By developing wholeness in families and individuals.

Spiritually: By leading individuals into relationships with Jesus Christ.

Relationally: By teaching individuals to love God and to love each other.

Our Priorities:

Right Relationships (Matthew 22:36-40) Loving God with all that we are and loving our neighbor as ourselves. Right Results (Matthew 28:19-20) Making disciples by baptizing them and teaching them.

Pastor: Daniel Martin

Pastor Daniel Martin has been a pastor for several years and he really loves Tempe Christian. He believes that God has called him here to this church in order to make it grow and to have it become a true church of God. You can contact Pastor Martin via cell phone at: 480.326.3402

Music Director: Adam Scanniello

Adam Scanniello has been at Tempe Christian as the music director for several years. His unique musical tastes provide our church with a very different stlye of musical worship. We love Adam, and Adam loves his job. You can get a hold of him at his cell phone: 480.688.4332

Spanish Pastor: Enrique Borja

Pastor Borja is fluent in Spanish and English. He preaches every other Sunday evening for the Spanish service. He also preaches at his church in central Phoenix. He has a real heart for the poor and the homeless; if you ever need a helping hand, call Pastor Borja. 480.755.0217

SBC Theology

Theology is simply a way of saying what we believe. So when we talk about Southern Baptist theology, or doctrine we are simply talking about the things that we believe. First, all of our church's theology and doctrine we get from the Bible. We do not teach anything that is not in the Bible and we do not have any creeds or beliefs that are not based solely on the Bible. A good source of information about basic theology can be found online at the Southern Baptist Convention webpage. If you have any specific questions, feel free to contact us as we will be more than happy to help you understand our beliefs. We also offer a membership course, which covers all of the basic theological beliefs. You can take the course and not have to become a member of the church, so feel free to sign up in order to just have some of your questions answered.
